Ingrid Rodebjer & Cori Smith

Transporting you from the Pennines to Sweden and beyond.

With fiddle, viola, song and banjo, Ingrid and Cori intertwine dark Swedish songs, reinventions of English ballads, traditional melodies with new compositions and improvisation.

They met and started their collaboration last year when Cori was studying at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.

London based trio. Formed with Jazz singer Rebecka Edlund and cellist Phoebe Harty the group traverse the lines between folk jazz and pop.

From their backgrounds in English and Swedish folk music,

Cori and Johanna intertwine traditional melodies with new compositions and improvisation. Their spiralling arrangements with spinning, trance-like melodies morph into electrifying groove-based tunes, inviting the audience on a musical journey.

Huddersfield/Sheffield based duo (viola, voices, harp, flutes & electronics) composing new works and arranging folk tunes in a contemporary setting.

BBC Young Folk Musician of the year finalists 2019. A northern English based band performing original songs and tunes alongside fresh arrangements of traditional tunes.

A magical week travelling across the Balkans Peace Park - sharing music, stories, incredible home cooked food and learning from traditional Balkan musicians.

Walls and windows

Collaboration with composer Claire Victoria Roberts and Don't Feed the Peacocks for a piece she wrote for Bradford Online Literature Festival 2020. It was very special to be able to bring Claire's piece alive and work with her, developing it through folk improvisation.
